moderated Setting up on DMR to the AF7PR repeater

Richard Bryan <rich@...>

I just signed up for the PNW DMR membership, and I think I set up my groups.io account correctly.  I'm VERY new to DMR- Is there something else I need to use to get connected to the repeater?  I can see some kind of response from the repeater, but I can't hear anything from anyone and I can't get an audible response from the 9999 and 9998 talk groups.

Any guidance for a Retevis RT82 user?

I would personally stay away from the really cheap DMR radios. They seem to cause more issues for everyone than what they are worth. Connect Systems has a DMR radio for $130 that has proven itself or pay $39 more and get a dual band (D868UV)

Just FYI, since I know there were problems with the old Baofeng DMR radios, they seem to be offering a new one that will work with repeaters, is dual band, and is only $65.

Hi Joe,

I don't believe this umbrella group is the right place for this post, but, this may be the link you're looking for.  It contains several files related to the MD-380.

http://www.trbo.org/pnw/codeplug/Tytera/

Note also:  I tried responding via the email notice I received about this post, but don't see that it made it to Groups.io.  Sorry to all if this message ends up being a repeat.

hoe, if you've spent time looking in this group, that's why you haven't found anything.you need to go to the PNW group, and not the more general DMR group. The codeplug can be found at:
https://dmr.groups.io/g/PNW/files/Codeplugs/Tytera
Use the latest one. It will require some upgrading as it hasn't been maintained on this site. Someone out there may have a more current one, and willing to upload it.
What area are you in? That may also help get one that's more tailored to your area, versus something with all of the possible PNW Zones and repeaters programmed in it?

Hope this info helps!!

Nice efforts afoot.

The TG mapping accuracy is better and the pin mapping is nice by the state.  Need to figure out how to do pin mapping by region to pick up all our repeaters.

I think the problem with that page is that there are no talk groupsassociated with that repeater. I need to handle the talk of the formation differently when that occurs.
